GOD'S WORK, OUR HANDS.
Partnering with St. John Lutheran in Gardena
On Saturday, September 10, 2022 a group of volunteers will leave from St. Paul’s parking lot at 8:30am and travel to the St. John Lutheran Church, 4535 Crenshaw Blvd, Gardena, CA 90249. There we will join hands with volunteers from St. John to create Hygiene Kits and Non-perishable Food Boxes. Following this joint venture, volunteers are invited to share lunch together.
St. John Lutheran Church is a congregation made up of fewer than 50 people. Each week they gather to prepare meals for surrounding communities. Their pastor, Pastor Maria, accompanied by the Bishop and synod members, recently returned from a week in El Salvador meeting with members of our Companion Synod. Since Covid’s beginning, the St. John former food kitchen has been joining with other congregations to package non-perishables and make them available to those in need who show up at their door. Recently they have begun creating hygiene kits and offering them where they see a need in a nearby community.
Between now and September 9th we are collecting the following items:
Food Boxes

o If you would like to contribute items for Hygiene Kits or non-perishable food items, please bring them to St. Paul’s between now and September 9. Many of our church rooms have a designated use now that we are fortunate to have so many new gatherings at St. Paul’s: Parnassus School, exercise class, AA meetings, so please place your contributions IN FRONT OF THE SANCTUARY ALTAR.
